Dust Capture Hoods

EnviroAir dust capture hoods have an exhaust slot that enters the exhaust header tangentially. This tangential inlet creates a strong vortex effect that causes the exhaust air to swirl around the perimeter of the exhaust header at high velocities preventing dust from settling out and collecting in the header. The exhaust header is specially tapered to provide a uniform cross-machine exhaust rate without the need for an adjustable exhaust slot.
The dust capture hood pictured is installed on a tissue converting rewinder. EnviroAir typically furnishes between five and eight dust capture hoods on a rewinder depending on the equipment included in the rewinder line.
The dust hoods can be furnished with retraction systems to rotate or move the hood as required for operator access to the converting machinery.
Exhaust connections on the dust capture hoods and connections on the exhaust manifold have quick-fit clamp connections to allow hoods and ducts to be easily removed for machine maintenance. The capture hood shown here is removing dust generated at the reel nip on a 190-inch wide tissue machine. A pneumatic retraction system rotates the canopy up 90º to facilitate spool loading.
